Mr DAVID SHOEBRIDGE [11.35 a.m.]: I move:
- That standing and sessional orders be suspended to allow a motion to be moved forthwith that Private Members’ Business item No. 1751 outside the order of precedence relating to an order for papers regarding the reform of planning laws in New South Wales be called on forthwith.
This matter is urgent because the people of New South Wales have been waiting three years to get a fair and decent direction from this Government and this Parliament on planning. This motion, if successful, will crack open the inner workings of the Government, find who it met with in giving its appalling direction on planning, find out what happened to the Moore and Dyer reports and give the people of New South Wales a real insight into what went wrong with this Government on planning, and what we need to set right to ensure that planning in New South Wales can be transparent, democratic and fair. This matter is urgent and it needs to be resolved today. I commend the motion to the House.
